Use your own AWS S3 storage with Astute Manager Pro

Third-party storage in Astute Manager Pro Enterprise connects Astute Manager directly to your organization’s own AWS S3 storage. Your files remain owned and controlled within your AWS account, while your Team benefits from the asset management and distribution workflows provided by Astute Manager Pro.

Why use your own AWS S3 storage?

Organizations may already have established requirements for cloud storage, security, data ownership, and infrastructure. With Astute Manager Pro Enterprise, you can connect your own AWS S3 environment rather than relying on Astute Manager storage for your assets.

Your IT Team retains control of the storage environment, while designers continue to access and use approved assets through Astute Manager.

How does Astute Manager Pro connect to AWS S3?

Third-party storage is configured from an Astute Manager Pro Enterprise account.

During setup, an administrator provides their AWS Account ID and selects the AWS region where the assets should be stored. Astute Manager Pro then generates an AWS CloudFormation link specific to that account and region.

The CloudFormation template creates the required:

• S3 bucket

• IAM role with limited permissions

• EventBridge rule for notifying Astute Manager Pro when uploads complete

Once the CloudFormation stack reaches CREATE_COMPLETE, the connection can be verified from Astute Manager Pro and the S3 bucket becomes available for asset storage.

The CloudFormation stack must be created in the same AWS region selected during the Astute Manager Pro setup.

Does Astute Manager Pro store AWS access keys?

No. Astute Manager Pro does not store your AWS access keys.

Access uses short-lived credentials through AWS Security Token Service (STS) and is restricted to the specific bucket and asset paths required by Astute Manager Pro. The files remain owned and controlled by your organization's AWS account.

Setup uses an AWS CloudFormation template to create the required S3 bucket, limited IAM role, and EventBridge rule within your AWS account. This allows organizations with established AWS infrastructure and security requirements to retain control of their creative asset storage while adding Astute Manager Pro as the management and distribution layer.
