What are roles and permissions in creative asset management?

2 Min read

Roles and permissions in creative asset management determine who can create, review, approve, manage, and use content. This helps organizations maintain control over their creative resources without limiting collaboration.

Why are roles important in asset management?

A small Team may only need an administrator and a group of users. Larger organizations often need more structure. Someone creating a new template file, brand asset, action set or script pack may need permission to contribute content without having the authority to deploy it across the organization.

Defined user roles help create a clear creative asset workflow, separating content creation from final approval and deployment.

What is a Content Creator role?

Astute Manager Pro Enterprise introduces a new Content Creator user level.

The Content Creator sits below the Team Owner and Manager, but above a standard Team Member.

Content Creators can upload Packs for review, but cannot immediately deploy that content to their selected Team(s). The Pack must first be reviewed and approved by a Manager or Team Owner.

This creates a simple workflow: Create → Submit → Review → Approve → Deploy

How does content creator approval work?

When a Content Creator submits a Pack, Astute Manager Pro will notify the appropriate Owners and Managers that new content is ready for review.

A Manager or Owner can then review and approve the Pack before it is deployed to the chosen Team.

This additional approval stage helps prevent unfinished, incorrect, or unauthorized assets from being distributed, while allowing more people to contribute to a shared creative asset library.

Tracking changes with Activity Logging

Permissions provide control, but accountability and governance is also important.

Activity Logging in Astute Manager Pro records who has made relevant changes, providing greater visibility throughout the asset management and approval process.

Together, permission roles, notifications, approvals, and Activity Logging provide a clear record of how creative content moves through from creation to deployment.

Creative asset permissions with Astute Manager Pro Enterprise

The Content Creator role is available with Astute Manager Pro Enterprise and is designed for organizations where responsibility for creating assets is distributed across a wider Team.

It allows people to contribute without giving every user administrative control.

For larger creative operations, that distinction matters. The right people can create content, the right people approve it, and the wider Team receives the approved resources.
